Divine Jewelry by Michelle Review and Giveaway

Interview with Michelle from Divine Jewelry:
Tell us a bit about yourself, Michelle.
I just got married 5 months ago and we have purchased our first home. I work full time as a medical assistant. I have loved wearing jewelry for as long as I can remember. I decided to start making it about 5 years ago. I have started making jewelry again now that the wedding and buying our first house is over. I would say I'm addicted to making jewelry. Most night after work and dinner you will find me up in my jewelry room making one of my creations.

How about the items in you shop?
Right now I have tons of earrings. I really like making earrings because this is what I usually wear most often with the type of work I'm in. I also have started doing bracelets from wire and also memory wire. I have several different lengths of necklaces that I'm offering as well. Most of my items are silver but i can make the jewelry from 14 k gold overlay and platinum if people request it. All the thinks I make in my shop is something that I would wear.

I also run sales from 10-20 percent off at times. I have also ran free shipping deals.
What is your all-time favorite item(s) currently in your shop?

This is tough, I have quite a few items. I really like the Grey and silver bead necklace, angel earrings and the Blue and silver bracelet(shown at the top of this post). These are my three top favorites right now. I really love all the jewelry that I have designed and would love to wear it all.
What or who inspires you and why?
I get inspired by the beads. I have known to spend time in a bead store and just look around. When I find the right beads I get a picture in my head about what I can do with this bead. Most of the time I think that they will make great earrings, while some make great necklaces. I also find inspiration in jewelry that I find at the mall. Some times there is something that I like but I want to make it to my personal taste. One inspiration that I recently worked on was The Story of Christ bracelet. One of my patients had it one and told me about it. So i have designed two in my shop.
~My Review~
I was sent two pairs of earrings to review from Divine Jewelry, and I liked them. The colors were amazing along with their entire design. They came in a cute little bag (I liked it so much I saved it!) The only thing I wish is that they would come with backs to them..no biggie...easy enough fix! :) If you are ever in need of some "Date Night" or everyday jewelry make sure to stop by Divine Jewelry.

Other items I like:

Aren't these just so unique? I really love the colors in them especially the purple hue.

I was actually thinking about buying this because it would look lovely with my Christmas outfit. I adore the sparkle beads! You can purchase this bracelet from Divine Jewelry for ONLY $7.50!

Zig Zag Apparel Review and Giveaway

Interview with Christina from Zig Zag Apparel:

Tell us a little bit about yourself, Christina.
My name is Christina and I'm a stay at home mom. I got engaged to the love of my life, Mark, on February 14, 2009 and we got married on March 14, 2009. I have a 4 month old son Gianni that I love and adore! We also have 3 Italian Greyhounds. I love to bake and cook and coupon shop and my newest hobby is sewing!

What inspired you to start your shop?
My son inspired me to start my shop! I was getting frustrated that i could not find one descent hat at the store to fit his little head. So i decided to design my own pattern and make him a hat. Soon everybody was asking me where i got his hats from and that was the start of my shop.

What is your all-time favorite item in your shop?
My favorite item and best seller is the houndstooth hat! I love that it works for boys and girls.

5 Words to describe you:
-Happy
-Funny
-Loving
-Wife
-Mother

What is your favorite winter activity?
My favorite winter activity is vacationing in Mexico with my husband and family :)

~My Review~
Zig Zag Apparel sent me their favorite hat to review. It's the girls version of the Houndstooth hat.
Isn't it adorable?! I not only think that it's adorable I also think that it is:
-Stylish
-Warm
-Soft
-Very Well Made
I love the face that the fabric on it is stretchy since we all know how babies grow so fast! Becca looks adorable wearing it! I'm actually considering getting professional pictures of her in it. It's also great that you can roll up or down the brim of the hat for the perfect fit. There is nothing better than quality items for a LOW price!
Some other great items you can purchase from Zig Zag Apparel:
Red Flower with Swarovski Crystal and Lace
This would make a beautiful prop for a photography session. It's absolutely beautiful! The lace on this headband is very soft and is great for every day wear and special events.

 Pink Hat With Flower
Hands down this hat is just darling! I love the little buttons that Zig Zag Apparel adds to their hats!
Swavorski Crystal Navy Bridal Flower Clip
You don't have to be getting married to want to wear this lovely alligator clip. You can wear this clip in your hair or on your clothing. I love the blue and purple mixture of it. It's a silk flower with a Swavorski Crystal in the center.

The Pink 'Dillo Review and Giveaway

 Etsy Feature:
The Pink 'Dillo
Interview with The Pink 'Dillo:

Tell us a bit about yourself.

My name is Angela and I’m 30 years old. I live in Austin, Texas with my boyfriend and our lovable little Chihuahua, Scar, who is basically our child. I love to cook, read, and anything chocolate, and have a huge passion for traveling, though I unfortunately don’t get the chance to do it as often as I’d like.

I have a business background and have a full-time job with a property management company, where I work in the business development department and manage a small staff. I’ve always had a creative side though, and spend a good majority of my spare time on my Etsy shop. I love the creative outlet that Etsy offers, but have also enjoyed learning all the business aspects of running your own shop as well – makes me feel like I’m really putting my Marketing and Business degree to good use!

How about the items in your shop....?
My shop is a mix of mostly paper goods – handmade cards, gift and favor tags, confetti, and embellishments, as well as bottle cap and decoupaged wooden magnets. I love color and patterns, and anything fun and girly. Many of the items in my shop are pretty versatile and could be used for a variety of occasions, but I also enjoy making and designing custom creations for baby showers, weddings, and parties. I’d love to add more themed party goods to my shop in the upcoming year, such as cupcake toppers, place cards, party favor tins, and more. I just recently had my first Etsyversary at the end of November, and finally reached my goal of having 100+ items listed – yay! My next goal is to end the year with at least 100 sales – only 10 more to go!

What are your favorite items currently in your shop?
Well, it’s REALLY hard for me to pick just 1, so here are a few of my faves. :)
I love how simply elegant these cards are.

Just love how these turned out – very mod and fun!

~ Cupcakes and Sprinkles Set Of Magnets~
I have a HUGE sweet tooth, so that’s why I love these. :)

What or who inspires you and why?
I have ideas running through my head all the time, more than I can keep track of or have time to make, unfortunately! I get inspiration from all sorts of things and at any random moment – while I’m at work, watching TV, even in my sleep! I don’t know how many times I’ve been in the middle of making one thing, when I suddenly get an idea for something else and start making that instead…I have several unfinished projects at any given moment, as a result. Mainly I just tend to create what makes me happy, and hope that it will be something that someone else can enjoy as well!

5 words to describe you:

Business woman

Laid-back

~My Review~
Since Christmas is right around the corner I was really excited to review a variety of their Christmas Gift Tags.
These are the Gift Tags that were sent to me:
~Blue Snowflake Gift Tags~
These tags are wonderful and universal. I think that even if you had extra after Christmas you could use them on other gifts. I love the fact that these have an adhesive strip on the back of them so that you do not have to us any tape. If you love to wrap presents as I do, then you already know what a convenient feature that is!

~Gingerbread Men Gift Tags~
I was sent 2 of these gift tags but I wish I had more! They are obviously adorable and very well made. These gift tags feature a tie so that you can easily attach them to a gift bag.

~Merry Christmas Gift Tags~
Aren't these just lovely?! I love that these will match your red or your green wrapping paper or gift bags. As I said before...these are very well made too!

~Winter Wonderland Mini Tags~
These super cute mini gift tags are sparkly and fun! They sent me a snowflake one and a Christmas tree one. These tags also have an adhesive strip on the back so that you can easily attach them to your gifts!

The Pink 'Dillo's items are very affordable! Other items you can purchase from The Pink 'Dillo include:
-Magnets
-Cards
-Confetti and embellishments
-Mini Cards

Spice of Life Review and Giveaway

~Etsy Feature~
Spice of Life
Magnetic Asian Herbs and Spices

~Interview with Spice of Life~

Tell us about yourself?
I’m a mom of 5 crazy kids &have been married to a really cool guy for 12 years. I was born & raised in Alaska, I have lived there my entire life. I am supper crafty artsy fartsy. I have made and sold crochet hats, scarves & sweaters. Handmade soap, lotions & bath products. Totes, purses, laptop bags & yoga mat bags. Now I’m on to spice kits. One reoccurring theme with my projects has always been natural, organic, vegan & Eco friendly. I’ve always got my husband’s head spinning with all of my crafty stuff piling up around the house.

What inspired you to start your shop, Spice of Life?
I have had other Etsy shops before Spice of Life. My original shop was started out of need to pass my lovelies on to someone that could use them. My family was drowning in a sea of handmade bits and pieces. Bags & hats where attacking from closet shelves & drawers where overflowing , it had to go for the greater good . My spice shop is just fun, a way for me to stay out of the corporate world (blah). I went to school to be a Laboratory Technician & then later a Real Estate Agent. Both very creatively dry not for me!!!! All I could think about while at work was patters, colors and what cool things I could be making if not for the darn lab coat.

What is your favorite spice to use while cooking?
My all time favorite spice is basil, lots of basil. I have this awesome Tomato Basil Penne Pasta that I make YUMMY!

5 Word to describe yourself?
Sentimental
Fun
Outrageous
Devoted
Spiritual

~My Review~
Spice of Life sent me their Sml. Italian Spice kit to review. The spices included were: Basil, Italian Seasoning, Garlic Bread Seasoning, Minced Garlic, Italian Sausage Seasoning, and Italian Dressing Seasoning. I haven't had the time to cook with them all, however, I did taste them all. I made spaghetti the other day and I used the Italian Sausage seasoning to cook the sausage. I then added some Italian seasoning and Basil to the sauce. Everything turned out wonderfully! I was very pleased with the flavor. The packaging that it was sent in was very attractive as well!

Some other items I love from Spice of Life:
This kit is magnetic which is great because you can just stick them on the fridge making it a great space-saver option.
Included in this kit:
-Rib Rub
-Fried Chicken Rub
-Texas BBQ
-Pork Rub
-Blackening Seasoning
-Steak Seasoning
These seasonings are great for grilling and makes a wonderful Christmas gift.
With the cold weather upon us tea is a wonderful thing to have around the house. I don't know about you but at night when I'm reading a book I love love love to drink a warm cup of tea! These teas are naturally grown and the kit  contains:
-German Chamomile

The Sewing Blonde Review and Giveaway!

Etsy Feature:
The Sewing Blonde

Interview with Leah from The Sewing Blonde

Tell us a little bit about yourself, Leah.
I love to sew and create with fabric.  I have been sewing my whole life, but something really clicked when I had my daughter 5 years ago.  I was inspired to sew mountains of dresses for her, as well as clothes for me, and in the process I became part of this wonderful online community of seamstresses and artists.  I have learned so much, and now I can't imagine sewing not being an intrinsic part of my everyday life. I say I "live handmade" because it is a lifestyle to wear and use beautiful items that were made by you or for you.

What gave you the inspiration to start your shop?
I've always resisting selling what I sew, because I want my family to take first priority when I sew stuff.  But recently I decided that I wanted to share the love in a least a small way.  I enjoy sewing unique, flattering aprons for my loved ones, so I thought they were the perfect everyday item that I could make available to others.  That way they, too, can experience the simple pleasure of wearing a beautiful, handmade item.  My tags say, "love, The Sewing Blonde" on them, so it's like you are getting a little gift from me.

What is your favorite item currently in your shop?
I'm completely gaga over my child's aprons, and The Fairy Wing Park one is my favorite right now.  It comes in aqua or pink, and I know it is going to make some little girl very happy!

Tell us your favorite:
Food:
Any kind of soup!  I make a mean potato leek soup, it's delish. :)
Music:
*obsessed* with John Mayer and Mumford & Sons (okay, that's 2, sorry!)
Quote or saying:
 Srsly. <---I can't stop saying/writing it
Movie:
Right now it's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. I.  I love love loved it!

~My Review~
The Sewing Blonde sent me a very cute apron to review. It reminds me of being in the 50's and cooking a nice home-made dinner for my family. I really love it! The quality and the design of the fabric is wonderful. You can definitely tell that it was made with love and care because it's very well made. It even has a cute little pocket on it to hold things while you are cooking. It's fully lined and very figure flattering. My fiance tells me that I look hot wearing it! Lol. TMI I know!
Leah from The Sewing Blonde also sent me the checkbook cover that she makes as well. To the left you can see it (it's the brown one). I love it as well! I don't write checks but I am using it as a wallet right now because it matches my purse.  The design on it is very beautiful.

Other great items at The Sewing Blonde:
 Muted Floral Child's Apron

Harvest Apron
With the holidays coming up these would be super cute to wear while cooking for and entertaining guests.

Chixycoco Vintage Review and Giveaway

Etsy Feature:
Chixycoco Vintage
Interview with Chixy from Chixycoco Vintage

Tell us a little bit about yourself, Chixy.
In my other life, I am an  illustrator here in London with over 20 years experience as a freelancer.  My work is montage based, so I have a big collection of both images and objects which at some point will find their way into my artwork. I have a passion for travel and simply cannot resist the opportunity to visit street markets and local shops to see what is on offer!

What inspired you to open your shop?
Selling vintage is another way for me to be creative, and in this line of work, you never stop learning things.  I also love that my customers are both near and far... it is nice to think that items in my shop will be starting new life in another part of the world!

What is your favorite item in your shop?
At the moment it has to be this beautiful Art Nouveau tin, which probably once held sweets or candy.  I am a big fan of vintage graphics and this is a good example of its era and quite rare.

What is your favorite quote or saying?
“The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity.”....Dorothy Parker

~My Review~
I love to go to garage sales when the weather is nice and the very first thing I look for is unique looking antiques. I love them because I feel each and every one of them has a story to tell. Who used to own them? What places have these items been to? I never really know exactly how old they are until I get home and do some research on them. Even then, most of the time I can't pin point it. However, that makes them even more special to me because they are really truly one of a kind and not everyone has them. I mean think about it...I see
this pincushion and I think of the woman that used it to create things for her family. Did she have a shop? What could she have looked like? The questions really are endless. This is just one example of an item you can purchase from Chixycoco Vintage. Chixy's shop has some very unique and lovely items.

Some Great Finds from Chixycoco Vintage:
 Gibson Style Girl Vase
This is one of my favorite items from Chixycoco! It's dated at abt 1912. I bet this was one pretty decoration in a bedroom or even maybe a powder room.

Paper Mache Glove Box
This box dates back to the end of the 19th Century and because of the designs is probably from continental Europe. Originally used for gloves; but if I bought this I would use it to store misc. desk items such as: paper clips and push pins.

  Embroidered Children's Boots from Asia
I wouldn't recommend letting your children wear these because they are so old and fragile. These have the whimsical fairy tale look that I love. It's amazing that these boots have held strong all these years!

Item I was sent to review:

This is called a "Flower Frog" and it is made from green glass. It was made in England somewhere between 1930-1940. It was originally used to arrange flowers in a bowl or vase so that they stay upright.  Chixy informed me that these days they are mostly used to hold pens, paintbrushes, and pencils. Right now, I'm using to hold pens on my desk! I really love it. I was using this coffee can I painted to hold my pens and pencils but now I'm using the Flower Frog. I really think that this would be great for anyone!
