Sweet Sincerity Review and Giveaway!

Featured Etsy Shop:
Sweet Sincerity

Interview with Bethany from Sweet Sincerity:

~Tell us a little bit about yourself~
My name is Bethany Coulombe, I'm 24 years old. I live in Bangor, Maine. I have a ridiculously large and diverse shoe collection, and I just started playing the ukulele. That last part isn't a joke, it's the cutest little guitar thing I've ever seen, and I'm very proud of it. I speak Spanish, French, a few words of Japanese and German, and I'm learning ASL. I'm also married to a sweet, funny little french carpenter, Matt, who looks amazing in a suit (pictured above).

~What or Who inspired you to start your shop Sweet Sincerity?~
I've always been really creative and into fashion. About 2 years ago I dreamed up starting a jewelry business as a way to encompass both of these loves. At the time though I was really busy, and in typical procrastinator fashion I dabbled, but didn't really pursue the idea fully. Of course, then I was really involved in community volunteer work (which is my first love and something I'm excited to get back into in the coming months). Throughout this busy period, friends and relatives encouraged me to pursue jewelry and spend more time with it. Finally, when my situation changed and I had more time, I focused my attention on making my dream a reality.
~What is your all-time favorite item currently in your shop?~

That is such a hard question to answer! I really love all of my pieces, because I wouldn't have listed them if I didn't (no, I'm not just saying that--I'm serious!). But if you make me pick, I would have to say the Garden Party Necklace, which you can see listed here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/59386285/garden-party-necklace

I like it because it's totally gorgeous and really different from anything I've ever seen. I just kind of dreamed it up one day from a bunch of Czech glass beads and copper wire. I was having a really crummy day that day and I just wanted to do something cathartic, so I started to make jewelry. When I was done, I was pleasantly surprised with what I had accomplished! My husband was really impressed with the design too, so that made me feel even better. It's just plain beautiful!
~What are 5 Words to Describe You~

1. CREATIVE--I consider myself to be compulsively creative, I try to make everything into a fun adventure! I just wish I could find a way to make housework more fun!

2. FUNNY--I'm told that I'm funny. People always laugh at me and with me, and sometimes it's hard to tell which.

3. CLUELESS--Many times I surmise this is why people are laughing AT me :) I would like to say I'm at least gracefully clueless, but anyone who really knows me, knows that that is a total facade! For some strange reason I'm always running into walls and doorknobs, and I think the edge of the table is the perfect place to set a glass full of milk or something expensive and breakable. Not to mention I could get lost in a paper bag and can't spell AT ALL, a problem that's been haunting me since 3rd grade. (I totally had run this through spell check three times and have my husband proof read it!)

4. FASHIONISTA--This word sounds super pretentious, but if it means someone who drools over purses that are worth hundreds of dollars, dreams about shoes, and could probably wear a different outfit everyday for more than a year from just the clothes I currently have in my closet, then that's totally me.

5. DETERMINED--For better or worse, freakish determination is one of my more outstanding traits. Once I set my mind on something, I give 120% and it's as good as done. That is once I'm done procrastinating, of course.

*I'd like to add a 6th word here--WORDY!!!! I couldn't just give a 5 word description of
 myself and not explain it!

 ~My Review~

I love all of Sweet Sincerity's jewelry! Their pieces are so beautifully unique that they are captivating.
Bethany sent me the Precious Blossom Pendant Necklace  to review. Everything was perfect about it! When I opened the package, I immediately noticed that there was an adorable little gift bag. I then proceeded to pull out this lovely wooden jewelry box that was placed inside the gift bag . Inside this box was the Precious Blossom Necklace I had been waiting for. It is really a gorgeous necklace! The colors are wonderful! I wanted to take a picture of the whole set-up: The Bag, Jewelry Box, and Necklace. However, my camera really didn't want to cooperate with me today! If you look to the right you can find the Precious Blossom necklace. This picture was taken from the Sweet Sincerity Shop.
Sweet Sincerity is one shop that you should consider when you are looking for the perfect gift for the women in your life. If you are like me, you might go there looking for a gift for someone else and end up buying yourself something in the end!

Brindille and Twig Review and Giveaway!(Closed)

Etsy Feature:
Brindille and Twig
Interview with Melissa from Brindille and Twig:

~Tell us about yourself, Melissa.~
 Who am I?
Well, first you should know my brain was made to be creative and if you could look at it, it would probably be made of fabric, sequins, thread, twill tape etc...
I've been going to apparel school for the past 2 years, and I'm almost done!  Which means I have more time on my hands to make things. I've never been about one or two specific items, it's always been more about making whatever I'm inspired to do at that moment. And I've been inspired to make anything from a leather handbag to little faux fur booties!
I can say that some of my happiest moments are when I'm in the middle of a creative mess and I manage to get something beautiful out of it. Like a victory in the battlefield of my work room :) When the flying fur settles and the fabric scraps land there's always a winner, either ME or THE PROJECT. If I win, I get a darling new item, if the projects wins he gets thrown to a death in the garbage.
The boots I'm selling didn't start as such, they started as more of a simple sock-like boot. And through a series of sidetracks and mistakes I ended up with the the lovely boots you see on Etsy!  I can never make myself stop at the simplicity of the original idea, I have to continue changing and adding until it's something I absolutely love. Otherwise I couldn't force myself to sell it.  I think it's very apparent when someone is passionate about what they're selling, as well as if they aren't. And,  I do my best to show I'm passionate about everything I'm creating.

~What inspired you to start your shop Brindille and Twig?~

Brindille and Twig has been in my plans since I started school. I was originally inspired by an all-organic clothing line and want to end up making only organic items. It's quite difficult to find all organic materials, so I'm not all the way there but I hope to be in the future.  As I said before, my original ideas and where I end up going is constantly shifting and recreating itself.  I love what I'm doing and that's all that counts because if your doing what you love it's easy to stay determined. Therefore, eventually you will succeed.

~What is your favorite Item in your shop?~
Right now my favorite item, by far, is the organic striped hoodie in olive and black, and I'm in the process of recreating it in different combinations and sizes.   I always make my own patterns so the sweatshirt and everything else is totally unique to anything out there.

~If you had to use 5 words to describe yourself what would they be?~
  • Creative
  • Determined
  • Quiet
  • Happy
  • Coffee (I think I'm 1/4 coffee at any given time)

 My Review:
I received a pair of booties similar to these to review.
My first impression of these were "Oh, my gosh! These are too cute!" and that's not an exaggeration.  I showed them to my fiance right away and he said "Those are awesome!". My niece Rebecca will look darling in these. They are super soft and very well made.  Not only will they keep her little piggies warm in the winter but they are also very stylish!  These faux fur lined baby booties are made from organic fabric and has a very cute leather tie that completes the look. You will never find an item like these because they are 100% unique!
Brindille and Twig is a wonderful shop to do your Christmas shopping for the little one in your life!
