Hesed Books and Gifts Review and Giveaway(Closed)

Etsy Feature:
Hesed Books and Gifts

Interview with Erin from Hesed Books and Gifts:

~Tell us a little bit about yourself?~
Hi, my name is Erin and I'm a quirky, bookish sort of individual. I enjoy working and spending time with my husband and my cat, Henri. Both are my constant companions while I work.

When I'm not working or spending time with my family, my favorite place to be is the bookstore. There is nothing like walking around the bookstore to feel giddy, creative, and safe all at once. If I could, I would spend every day in the bookstore devouring the thousands of books I want to read.

~What inspired you to launch Hesed books and Gifts?~
I was inspired to launch Hesed Books and Gifts during my Junior year of college. I was taking a heavy course load of literature courses as the time, and I remember looking around at my classmates and seeing them completely disinterested in what we were learning.

Something inside me cried out against that. While my classes were admittedly rather dry, I thought to myself, "this isn't how it should be; literature, books, writing... they should be fun."

That's why many of my designs have a very offbeat, colorful theme. I wanted to create a company that had a very fun, modern feel to it that got people excited about reading and writing.
~What is your all-time favorite quote or saying?~
Oh, this is a tough one as I love quotes... But if I had to choose, I would say that it's the quote, "The Present is the point at which time touches eternity," by C.S. Lewis (my favorite author). I've always felt that there's something very powerful about it: that the present connects us to our past as well as our future. While it's sometimes hard to keep that in mind during the day-to-day, I think it encourages us to look at the 'big picture' of our lives.

~What are 5 Words to describe You~

  • Creative
  • Offbeat
  • Bookish
  • Shy
  • Genuine

My Review:
When Erin from Hesed Books and Gifts asked me to pick an item to review it was a VERY hard choice! She has so many unique items in her shop that I absolutely love. However, I picked the Charlotte Bronte journal because she is one of my ALL-TIME favorite authors.  I love the quote on the front of the journal by Charlotte Bronte: "Better to be without logic than without feeling." I can really relate to it in my everyday life. So, everyday when I pick up my little journal and read this quote it motivates me.  The cover of it has a very pale pink design that is just lovely. I feel comfortable telling you that this would make the perfect stocking stuffer for any girl!
